Job requirements for IT tester consultant medior

  • Successfully completed secondary or higher education of 1st or 2nd degree.
  • Very good communication skills in German (B2 level).
  • Knowledge of SQL and XML.
  • Previous work experience in SW testing (manual and automated tests) of at least 3 years.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, practical knowledge of insurance products and working with an insurance information system is an advantage.
  • The desire to continuously educate yourself.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (within a range of approximately 5 days per semester).
  • The job of a software and product tester requires independence, accuracy and responsibility.

What does an IT tester do? The role of an IT tester is to test insurance products, simulate the client’s behaviour and mindset, think about different situations that could occur and implement similar scenarios. The software tester evaluates the results of testing, suggests measures to prevent errors and keeps detailed documentation about it. A high level of concentration, attention to detail and logical as well as analytical thinking are therefore required.

How to become an IT tester? Our clients, as well as foreign teams, are mainly based in German-speaking countries, so the job of IT tester in Slovakia requires a very good knowledge of the German language. In addition to knowledge of German, ISTQB tests are required (can be obtained online), orientation in the IT field or technical background is an advantage. Part of your job will be to prepare tests (regression tests, IT tests, integration and manual tests).

Depending on your skills and previous work experience, your salary as an IT tester will range from €1,900 upwards. As this is a larger salary range, we indicate the “from” amount for each job offer. However, if you’re a good software tester and can do well in IT testing, you certainly don’t have to worry about your salary. In addition, you will receive generous employee benefits, including German language courses.

As an IT tester you can work from our nice offices in Bratislava, Zilina and Kosice or from home. So it’s up to you which form of work suits you best and which you agree with your line manager. Customer meetings and advice can also be conducted online, but it should be remembered that there are clients that do not prefer this type of communication. We are not currently looking for software testers for the insurance industry in the remote form.

The IT Tester job requires a passionate tester who would like to take their knowledge of Jira, Eclipse, SQL and IT consulting to the next level and hone their testing skills. We don’t expect you to know everything, but an IT orientation, a technical background, and most importantly, willingness to keep learning are necessary.
